New and typically "Munich":  (Folklore run)

The first Munich costume run is international, friendly and traditional. Runners of all nations and states are called on to run a 4,5 kilometer route in their national dress on the day before the marathon. The course leads to a section of the former marathon route from Willi-Gebhardt-Ufer in Olympic Park up to the district Gern to the southern approach-alley and back again. This is not about a fast time (no time measurement!) but more about friendship, sport and fun.

Participation in the Trachtenlauf München is free of charge.

Afterwards, there is a Bavarian Breakfast in Olympic Park with Weißwurst (Bavarian veal sausage), pretzels and beer. If you would like to take part in this, you can order for 5.00 euros* this right with your registration.
